Chapter 22 is the defining instant for Amir during the fight with Assef, the childhood yobbo of the Kabul neighborhood. This is where Amir discovers his own strength and courage as he becomes the the Nazarene for Hassans son, Sohrab. After this fight we break apart American Law versus Islamic Law.
